Custom Jewelry: How Much Does It Cost and How Long Does It Take?

Custom is what Avianne & Co. is known for, from MrBeast's panther pendant to Max B's MAWA medallion. Here's how pricing really works (it depends on what you want), how the process goes from idea to finished piece, and the celebrity pieces that came off our bench.
Custom Jewelry: How Much Does It Cost and How Long Does It Take?

Custom jewelry starts around $2,500 and goes up from there, depending entirely on what you want: the design, how much gold it takes, and which diamonds go in it. A simple band or solitaire sits at the low end. A fully iced-out pendant or a one-of-a-kind chain can go well into five figures. Most pieces are finished in a few weeks.

Quick answer

  • Custom jewelry at Avianne & Co. generally starts around $2,500. The high end has no ceiling; it depends on the design.
  • Three things set the price: the design's complexity, the gold weight, and the diamonds (lab-grown costs far less than natural).
  • Most pieces are finished in a few weeks. Simple pieces are faster; large, fully set pieces take longer.
  • You approve a 3D render before anything is made. A deposit starts the work; custom pieces are made to order and can't be returned.
  • Custom is what Avianne & Co. is known for. MrBeast, Lil Baby, Max B, Cam'ron, Bobby Shmurda, and Slick Rick have all worn pieces made by us.

Custom is our specialty. It's what Avianne & Co. built its name on since 1999 at 28 W 47th Street, and it's why when MrBeast needed a chain for his first music video, or Max B walked out after 17 years and wanted a piece that said something, they came here. Same bench, same jewelers, whether it's a $3,000 engagement ring or a pendant that ends up in Complex. Here's how it actually works.

How Much Does Custom Jewelry Cost?

It ranges, and anyone who gives you a flat number before seeing a design is guessing. Here's the honest way to think about it.

The low end is around $2,500. That's a clean, well-made piece in solid 14K gold: a custom band, a solitaire with a lab diamond center, a modest initial or symbol pendant. Nothing cut corners on, just not a lot of gold or stones.

The middle is where most people land. A custom engagement ring with side stones, a name or initial pendant with full pavé, a piece built around a stone you already own. More gold, more diamonds, more bench time.

The high end can go a lot higher. Large statement pendants, custom link chains, pieces with serious carat weight. These are the pieces that end up in magazines, and they're priced like it.

What moves the number, in order:

  • Gold weight. Gold is priced by the gram at market rate. A heavier piece costs more, full stop. We'll show you the weight trade-off in the 3D render so you can decide.
  • Diamonds. Natural diamonds cost several times what lab-grown diamonds do. Choosing lab-grown is the single biggest lever on a custom quote.
  • Complexity. Hand-setting hundreds of small stones is the most labor-intensive work in jewelry. An "iced out" piece costs more in labor than most people expect. A clean design with fewer, larger stones costs less and often looks better.

Tell us your budget up front. We'll tell you what it buys and design to it. That's a normal conversation here, not an awkward one.

How Long Does Custom Jewelry Take?

Most pieces are done in a few weeks. Simple pieces (a band, a solitaire, a small pendant) are on the faster end. Large, fully set pieces and custom chains take longer because the stone setting alone can be days of work. If you have a date, tell us at the start and we'll tell you honestly whether it's realistic.

The steps, so you know what to expect:

  1. Consultation. Bring a sketch, a screenshot, a photo of something you like, or just an idea. We talk through what you want, what it'll take, and what it'll roughly cost. In person on 47th Street or through our custom form.
  2. Quote and deposit. We give you a price range. If it works, a deposit starts the design.
  3. 3D design. We build your piece in CAD and send you renders from every angle. You tell us what to change. Nothing gets made until you've approved it.
  4. Casting and setting. The approved design is cast in gold, cleaned up, and the stones are set by hand.
  5. Finishing. Polish, plating if it's white gold, final inspection, and appraisal paperwork.
  6. Pickup or insured shipping.

The Pieces People Know Us For

Avianne & Co. has been building custom pieces for artists, athletes, and collectors since 1999. None of these are endorsement deals. A few from the public record:

MrBeast: The Panther Pendant

When MrBeast needed custom jewelry for his first-ever music video, Lil Baby's Pharrell-produced "Dead Fresh" remix, he came to Avianne. We built a fully sculpted, three-dimensional version of his panther logo: dense pavé blue sapphires across the face and jaw, white diamonds tracing the lightning bolt, the eyes, and the contour lines, with a fully set bail so no blank metal shows. The video was shot in his hometown of Greenville, North Carolina, and the TikTok clip crossed 51 million views in three days. The pendant was in every shot. Read the full story.

Max B: the MAWA pendant

In November 2025, Max B walked out after roughly 17 years and came directly to Avianne. Complex covered it. The centerpiece was a custom MAWA pendant: 6,431 stones, 87 carats of diamonds, set into a 321-gram medallion, part of a first-day-out haul we valued at over half a million dollars. A piece like that doesn't happen at a retail counter. It happens through a direct conversation between a client who knows what he wants and a shop that can actually build it. Read the full story.

Lil Baby: the Baby Zombie bandana chain

Before the MrBeast video, Lil Baby was already a client. We built his diamond-encrusted Baby Zombie bandana pendant on an infinity link chain, covered by Hypebeast. See the piece.

Cam'ron and Dipset

The Dipset era produced some of the most recognized custom jewelry in hip-hop history, and Cam'ron and the Diplomats were among our most visible clients at the height of it. Those pieces helped define what custom hip-hop jewelry looked like for a generation.

Bobby Shmurda

Bobby Shmurda's custom work with us, including his post-release chain and Rolex work, has been documented across our YouTube channel and in his interview coverage with HotNewHipHop. Read Joe Avianne on designing for Bobby, Lil Pump, and Cam'ron.

Slick Rick: a Guinness World Record

We built a pendant for Slick Rick that earned a Guinness World Record for its complexity. It's one of the most technically demanding pieces we've ever produced and the clearest demonstration of what this bench can do at the top end.

And the rest of the record

Lil Wayne's camp, a fully iced diamond skateboard pendant. Big X Tha Plug. French Montana on the cover of Rolling Stone Canada. Aniya Harvey on the cover of EBONY. Drake, Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz, Justin Bieber, and Jake Paul are all on the public record too. And plenty of clients prefer to keep their pieces private, which we respect. The full list is on our celebrity clients page.

The point isn't the names. It's that every one of those pieces started the same way yours would: someone described what they wanted, and we built it.

Why Do People Come to Avianne & Co. for Custom?

  • The work is done here. Design, casting, setting, and finishing happen on our own bench in the Diamond District. You can meet the people making your piece.
  • The portfolio speaks for itself. See the custom gallery for the range, from engagement rings to full chains.
  • You see it before it exists. 3D renders from every angle, revised until you're happy, before a single gram of gold is poured.
  • No design is too far. A logo, a symbol, a tribute, something that doesn't exist yet. If you can describe it, we can usually make it.
