DESCRIPTION:

Pear shape is the reason to look at this one. The center diamond is a GIA certified pear shaped stone weighing 2.62 carats, graded H in color and SI1 in clarity, prong set in 18K white gold. An elongated outline such as a pear covers more of the finger than a round of the same carat weight, because the weight is distributed along the length instead of down into the depth of the stone.

The rest of the frame is detailed with small prong set diamonds totalling an additional 0.78 carats, bringing total diamond weight to 3.40 carats. The frame measures 14.2 mm in width and the mounting weighs 4.7 grams.

H color is near colorless and shows no tint against white gold. SI1 means inclusions are not visible to the naked eye. One practical note on pear shapes: the point is the most vulnerable part of the stone, which is why it sits under a prong of its own here rather than being left exposed at the end of the setting.
