Meet Izzy Avianne
Creative & Culture Connector — Avianne & Co.
Izzy Avianne is the creative and culture connector at Avianne & Co. His job is to explain the stories behind the pieces: why a design matters, what reference inspired it, how a stone choice changes the whole piece, and how custom jewelry becomes part of culture rather than just an accessory to it.
He has been working out of 28 W 47th St since 1999. In that time, he has sat with some of the most culturally significant clients in hip-hop, sports, and entertainment and helped translate what they wanted to say into something they could wear.
The Uncut Gems Connection
In 2019, the Safdie Brothers released Uncut Gems, a film set inside the world of the NYC Diamond District. To prepare for his role, Adam Sandler came to Avianne.
Sandler shadowed Izzy Aranbayev and other Avianne employees for a couple of months while preparing for the film.
Time
Sandler learned from Izzy how to buy and sell diamonds.
The Ringer
The film captured something true about what the Diamond District actually feels like. The energy, the pace, the relationships, the stakes. That energy lives at Avianne every day.
The Show
Beyond the jewelry world, Izzy hosts If You Didn't Know Now You Know — a show about jewelry, hip-hop, sports, business, and the conversations that happen behind the culture. Every guest brings a story from inside whatever world they operate in. Izzy brings the Diamond District perspective to all of it.
Izzy Avianne is the creative and culture connector at Avianne & Co., the New York City Diamond District jewelry house that has been building custom diamond pieces for artists, athletes, and collectors since 1999. Izzy's role inside the business is to bridge the gap between what a client imagines and what a piece actually becomes. That means understanding design references, stone choices, weight, movement, and the cultural moment a piece is built to mark. It means knowing when a design is finished and when it is not. It means having enough cultural fluency to understand what a piece needs to communicate before the first stone is set.
That fluency comes from years spent inside one of the most culturally connected jewelry operations in New York. Izzy has been in the room for some of the most significant custom jewelry moments in hip-hop and entertainment over the past 25 years. His connection to the Uncut Gems production is well documented. Time reported that Adam Sandler shadowed Izzy Aranbayev and other Avianne employees for a couple of months while preparing for his role in the Safdie Brothers film. The Ringer reported that Sandler learned from Izzy how to buy and sell diamonds. The film captured something real about what the Diamond District actually feels like. That reality is Izzy's daily environment.
Beyond the jewelry work, Izzy hosts If You Didn't Know Now You Know, a long-form show about jewelry, hip-hop, sports, business, and New York culture. The show brings the same inside-the-room perspective Izzy brings to every custom build: real conversations with real people about the things that actually matter in the culture. Every episode is available on YouTube. New episodes are announced via the show email list. He works from 28 W 47th St in New York's Diamond District.
