DESCRIPTION:

More than half the diamond weight on this ring sits in the sides. Baguette and princess cut diamonds account for 2.25 carats of a 4.26 carat total, running along a band that measures 3/8 of an inch, 10 mm, in 18K gold.

The center is a large princess cut, EGL US certified at K color and VS1 clarity. Mixing baguettes with princess cuts changes how the shoulders behave in light. Baguettes are step cut and throw broad flat flashes; princess cuts are brilliant faceted and scatter. Alternating the two keeps the band active instead of reading as one continuous line of sparkle.

K color falls below the near colorless range and shows a warm tint. That is worth saying straight, and it is also what makes a princess cut this large reachable at this price, since color is the grade most buyers trade away to get carat weight. VS1 means clean to the naked eye. The mounting weighs 10 grams and metal color is selected at order.
