DESCRIPTION:

This piece is not sold against a fixed carat weight, and it would be dishonest to quote one. What is specified is the construction: a round cut diamond at the center, with round and baguette cut diamonds covering the design around it, all in 14K white gold at a width of 0.32 inches. The diamonds are G to H in color and SI2 to SI3 in clarity.

Mixing baguettes with rounds changes the behavior of the metal in light. Baguettes are step cut, so they return broad flat flashes, while the rounds break light into small scattered points. Set together the surface stays busy from every angle instead of reading as one uniform field of sparkle, and the straight edges of the baguettes give the eye a line to follow toward the center stone.

G to H is near colorless. SI2 to SI3 is the lower end of the slightly included range, which is an honest trade: these grades put the budget into coverage and spread rather than into a grading certificate, and at the scale these accent stones are set, clarity is not what the eye registers anyway.
