DESCRIPTION:

A yellow diamond at the center instead of a white one. The stone is a 0.85 carat princess cut enhanced yellow diamond, and a square outline suits a colored stone particularly well: the broad flat table of a princess cut shows a color as a solid field rather than breaking it up into the scattered flashes a round brilliant produces.

Around it, 1.37 carats of round cut white diamonds cascade down the band, bringing total diamond weight to 2.22 carats. The mounting is 14K white gold weighing 5.7 grams at a width of 0.4 inches. White metal is doing real work here, because a white surround gives the eye a neutral reference and makes the yellow read as yellow rather than as a warm white stone.

The white diamonds are G to H in color, which is near colorless, and SI2 to SI3 in clarity. SI2 to SI3 is the lower slightly included range, honestly a working grade rather than a showpiece one, and at the size these accents are set it is not what the eye notices. The center diamond's color is enhanced, which is a disclosed treatment and the reason a fancy yellow of this size is attainable at all.
