DESCRIPTION:

Two trapezoid cut diamonds flank the center stone on this ring, a cut you will rarely see on an engagement ring and the reason this one looks nothing like a halo design. The center diamond weighs 5.00 carats, is princess cut, and carries an EGL certificate at I color and SI1 clarity. The two trapezoids add 0.63 carats, bringing total diamond weight across the ring to 5.63 carats.

A trapezoid is cut with a flat top and angled sides, so the side stones sit flush against the square edges of the princess center with no gap and no metal showing between them. The effect is one continuous block of diamond rather than three separate stones. The mounting is 18K white gold and weighs approximately 9.6 grams, and the ring measures 3/8 of an inch, or 10 mm, in width.

I color sits at the warm end of the near colorless range, and SI1 means inclusions are not visible to the naked eye. The princess cut holds its weight in a compact square outline, so 5.00 carats reads as depth and substance rather than spread. The head is also built as a neutral platform, which makes this a practical mounting if you later want to set a different center stone of similar dimensions.
