DESCRIPTION:

The 2.52 carat round brilliant at the center of this ring is clarity enhanced, and that is worth stating plainly before anything else. Total diamond weight is 3.55 carats, clarity SI1 to SI2, color I to J, in an 18K gold mounting.

Clarity enhancement fills a surface-reaching fracture so it stops catching light, which makes the inclusion far harder to see. The stone remains a mined diamond and the treatment is disclosed on every sale. What it does is put a two and a half carat round brilliant within reach at a price an untreated stone of the same spread would not meet. The 1.03 carats of side diamonds are untreated naturals, round cut, held in a mix of prong and pave settings.

I to J color is the lower half of the near colorless range and shows a faint warmth, easiest to notice against a white background and almost invisible once the ring is on a hand. SI1 to SI2 clarity on the side stones means nothing is visible without magnification. The ring measures half an inch across at 12 mm and weighs 7 grams. Metal color is chosen at order.
