DESCRIPTION:

At 4.5 grams this is one of the lightest mountings in the collection, and that is the point of it. A 3.07 carat cushion cut diamond sits at the center, and the 18K white gold around it has been kept to the minimum needed to hold the stone, so almost nothing of the ring competes with it visually. The metal is highly polished rather than textured, which keeps the shank reading as a bright line rather than a mass.

Smaller round cut diamonds form the side stones, adding 0.75 carats for a total diamond weight of 3.82 carats. The ring measures 11.76 mm across.

Clarity is VS1, so no inclusions are visible to the naked eye. Color is J, the final near colorless grade, where a slight warmth can appear in larger stones. On a three carat cushion that trade works in the buyer's favor: dropping from a G to a J moves the price materially at this size, and the difference is far easier to measure on a grading report than to see on a hand.
