DESCRIPTION:

This is a custom build, made to order in platinum rather than pulled from a standing line. The center is prong set with an EGL certified princess cut diamond of 3.01 carats, graded H in color and SI1 in clarity.

Small round cut diamonds adorn the remainder of the frame and total 2.30 carats, so total diamond weight across the ring is 5.31 carats. The center section measures 13.4 mm in width and the band weighs 14.7 grams. That gram weight is what platinum costs you in mass and what it gives back in security: the metal is denser than gold, so prongs cut from it resist bending and hold a large square stone more firmly through years of wear.

H color is near colorless and SI1 means the inclusions are not visible to the naked eye. Platinum also needs no rhodium plating, so it will not drift toward a warm tone the way unplated white gold eventually does. Because the piece is custom, dimensions and stone selection can be adjusted before it is made.
